Oban 14 year old single malt whisky is the primary product of their distillery. The Oban distillery was built in 1794 and it is located in west coast of Scotland. The distillery was built before the town with the same name, which developed later in the surrounding harbor and is known for fishing.With only two pot stills, it is one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland.

Although the Dalwhinnie 15 gets love in various quarters, the Oban 14 seems to get almost universally low scores. Never understood why, as I always thought it was a touch better than the Dalwhinnie 15 too.
Regardless, Oban 14 is obviously a 14-year-old single malt whisky, bottled at a respectable 43% ABV (86 proof). Let’s get to tasting. On the nose, there’s a hint of medicinal tones to this malt,
